21st June 2012: Smitdogg - Got a Dig Dug to Galaga conversion. It happens mostly on 32-bit platform binaries. This fixed Galaga freezes just before finishing POST. There are 63 stars in each set, 126 displayed at any one time. Two control bits determine which of two sets are displayed set 0 or 1 and simultaneously 2 or 3. Because the starfield begins generating stars at the point in time it's enabled the exact horizontal location of the stars on Galaga depends on the length of time of the POST for the original board. The chip was clocked on a test rig with hblank and vblank simulated, each X & Y location of a star being recorded along with it's color value. The star line and pixel locations of the Galaga starfield pulled directly from a clocked stepping of the 05 starfield.

Don't think I'll play much of this any more. Check stages 76 and 97 for a taste of the luck thats needed for this variation. Had a really good run in the middle of a few hundred thousand. It has been deemed permissible for a player to intentionally play on the player 2 side so as to allow the millions-digit to show up in the final score. Useage of the trick to cause enemies to stop firing is banned. If, at any time, you connect two ships together then your game will disqualified. A captured ship will not end your game but you will have to kill your own ship in order to continue your game. You must ONLY use one ship during your entire game play until the game is over. Special Rules: This is the No Double Ships / Marathon variation of Galaga. Bonus Life: 20k, 70k and every 70k thereafter.
